Our Team

Hilena Addis

Hilena Addis is a Program Manager at the Medical Ethics and Health Policy Department, where she works on projects that investigate solutions aimed at improving health outcomes in disinvested communities across Philadelphia.

Prior to joining the team, Hilena managed the clinical trial operations of leukemia studies at Penn’s Abramson Cancer Center where she focused on the integration of palliative care to improve patient outcomes and reduce caregiver burden. During this time, she also helped to create a training manual designed to scale up human resources in the fight against the Covid pandemic in Ethiopia.

Hilena is passionate about inclusive policymaking, improving health equity, and global health. She received her BA in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University and will complete her Master’s of Health Care Innovation at the University of Pennsylvania in May 2023.
