Repeal of Subminimum Wages and Social Determinants of Health Among People With Disabilities

This article examines the impact of eliminating Section 14(c) of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which permits employers to pay individuals with disabilities subminimum wages. The study found that repealing this policy led to increased labor force participation among people with disabilities. The authors suggest that such policy changes can positively influence social determinants of health by promoting economic self-sufficiency and social inclusion for individuals with disabilities
